David Allen, of Getting Things Done (GTD) fame, is perhaps the world’s foremost authority on maintaining stress-free productivity. His 1.2 million Twitter followers have created vast, sprawling collections of content sharing how they integrate the GTD system into their respective worlds.
In ascending order of time required, here are some of the best resources to get a quick taste of what his GTD system is all about:
- David providing an overview in the intro to his Lynda.com course. (3.5 minutes)
- Excellent animated explanation from OmniFocus. Note: this presents the system in the context of using the OmniFocus software, which I use and love…but you can use paper-based or other free software tools rather similarly. (8 minutes)
- David’s TEDx talk in Amsterdam (18 minutes)
- David’s book, Getting Things Done (4 hours, well worth it)
